599 and chest hair

December 18, 2006

We got our first Ferrari 599 in the store.  It is defiantly one of the coolest cars I’ve ever seen and driven.  I cleverly arranged to pick it up, rather that have it delivered so I could have the opportunity to drive it.  I only got to go about 10 miles, but it was still impressive.  From the lines to the interior, to the engine and transmission, I can find no faults. They really got this one right.  There have only been a handful delivered in the US, and the market is as much as $200,000 over MSRP, so I don’t expect to have it long. In fact we have a famous quarterback who I believe will buy it today. But while we do have it, I’ll continue to drool over it.  The F40 and 288 GTO were shipped out of here on Saturday, and I was sad to see them go, but he 599 has lifted my spirits.

Ok, so laugh if you want to, (and this whole section might be a little more information than you expected) but this weekend I did something I’ve been thinking about for a while.  As many of you know, I am somewhat of a health nut. I go to the gym every day, and I’m in pretty good shape.  Lots of guys at the gym shave their bodies, either completely or in part, and I’ve wondered what it would be like, and since its winter, and I’m not going out without a shirt, I figured, what the hell.  So yesterday morning I shaved my chest.  I know, it sounds nuts to me too.  Now, no matter how objectively I try to look at myself, its just weird looking in the mirror and seeing myself without chest hair. It’s probably what its like after having plastic surgery.  It’s just not what you’re used to seeing in the mirror.  My wife likes it and wants me to keep it this way. Although if I do, I think I need to learn the right way to do it.  I didn't know any better, so I just shaved it. Now I have stubble and some itching. According to some of my bodybuilder friends, there are hair removers that work well.  But I don’t know whether I can get used to it or not. Anyway, just sharing.

Tonight is the Criss Angel celebrity roast and birthday party.  I still have not bought him a present, and I’m running out of time.  Everybody buys him magic related stuff and I want to be different, but I can’t figure out what I can get him that he would not get himself……Between the time I wrote that last line and now, I went to lunch and bought Criss a gift. I can’t say what it is just in case he reads this, but I think I did great and I’m excited to give it to him.

We continue to sell every car we can get our hands on.  I don’t know if business is good for the entire exotic car world or just for us, but I’m not complaining.  It was surprisingly busy in the entire store this weekend.   Merchandise sales were strong as was the loop.   With Christmas and New Years coming I’m thinking year end ought to be good.  2006 was our first full year in business (we started May of 2005) and 2007 looks to be spectacular.

Be sure, when you’re in Las Vegas, to stop by and say hi.
